HABITAT FOR HUMANITY WORK DAY
Blitz Build 2012, at Habitat Oaks, will take place from Monday, February 6- Saturday, February 18. Blitz Build is an accelerated construction event, where 10 homes are completed over the course of 2 weeks. CTK volunteers will work on Saturday, Feb. 18. If you can't work that day, please volunteer for another day. Volunteer spots now available-click here to sign up today! Any questions, ask Kathy Hibbs.
SHROVE TUESDAY Please join us Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 6:30 pm for pea soup and pancake supper. Adults are $5 and kids are $3. Sign up in Ludder Fellowship Hall after Sunday worship services.
MID-WEEK LENTEN SERVICE SCHEDULE Feb. 22 - Ash Wednesday, worship services will be held at 12 noon and 7:30 pm. Wednesday evenings on Feb. 29, March 7, 14, 21, and 28 - 6:30 pm Soup Supper & 7:30 pm Worship. All are welcome!
MATTERS OF THE SPIRIT - AN OPPORTUNITY FOR LENT AND BEYOND "Just a closer walk with thee; grant it, Jesus, is my plea. Daily walking close to Thee; let it be, dear Lord, let it be." So goes the anonymous hymn that is part of our rich heritage of music for worship. Lent is a time to invest yourself more fully in a daily walk with the Lord…and this Lent, we invite you to walk it with your family of faith at Christ The King.
Yes, you are invited to be part of a congregation-wide Lenten journey to discover how we can “see the face of Christ” in ourselves, our families, our worship, our congregational life, our workplace, and our world. How can you join the journey? It’s easy!
Each day beginning Ash Wednesday, you are urged to go to the new blog linked to our website, entitled “Matters of the Spirit.” Look for the stylized “B” near the Facebook and YouTube icons on the right. This is a CTK blog (internet conversation) where you will find a daily Bible passage, and a devotion written by a CTK member. At the end of the devotion will be some thought questions that flow from the devotion. You are urged to read and pray as you consider the Bible verse, devotion, and thought questions…and then, join the conversation! Anyone can read the posts; if you want to write something, just register for the blog (it’s easy!), click on the “Post a Comment” field to add your voice to the daily theme. As we share thoughts and prayers together, we will draw closer to each other and to our Lord.
